Minimum Qualifications
Previous camp staff experience
Current CPR and first aid certifications
Desire and ability to work with children and adults in camp setting
Ability to creatively schedule programs, facilities, and staff
Ability and experience in supervising staff and campers
College student or at least 21 years of age

Specific Responsibilities

General Responsibility
To supervise staff and program.
Specific Responsibilities
1. Conduct or delegate responsibility for inspection of areas.
2. Visit groups regularly during the day as a supervisory tool, but also to provide opportunity to get to know campers and staff.
3. Be knowledgeable about the eating habits and diets of campers.
4. Monitor counselor and camper assignments for the day.
5. Together with unit staff and campers, plan and execute the day program objectives.
6. Correct or reprimand other staff as soon as possible (in private), for actions that put health and safety of a camper at risk.
7. Monitor that activity counselors take responsibility for groups at appropriate times.
8. In the event an activity counselor is ill or their employment is terminated, lead the activity temporarily.
General Responsibility
To counsel staff and campers.
Specific Responsibilities
1. Be responsible for the welfare of each individual in the group and do all possible to solve problems.
2. Inform director of any camper or staff problems.
3. With help of other staff, evaluate the elective choices of campers.
4. Assist those campers and staff who may need help fitting into camp atmosphere.
5. Help ensure morale of staff by monitoring that staff get enough rest, time, and that recreational opportunities are available to them.
6. As appropriate, speak with campers' parents.
General Responsibility
To evaluate the program.
Specific Responsibilities
1. Monitor food service and eating habits.
2. Discuss with director the performance of all staff.
3. Evaluate division or unit staff, and assist staff in setting objectives so that they can meet the expectation of activity supervisors.
4. Formally evaluate staff at least twice a season, conducting other evaluations as necessary .
5. Supervise and check the writing of all final staff reports as they pertain to campers and program.
6. Assist in evaluating the entire camp operation with suggestions for the following season.
7. These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.
